27th Annual Taste of Solvang - March 15-17, 2019 - a Sunny Success!

The 27th annual Taste of Solvang held from Friday, March 15 through Sunday, March 17, 2019 was a sunny, sweet and savory success according to Daniel Lahr, Special Programs Manager at the Solvang Conference & Visitors Bureau, presenters of the culinary festival.

Solvang, California, USA—The 27th annual Taste of Solvang held from Friday, March 15 through Sunday, March 17, 2019 was a sunny, sweet and savory success according to Daniel Lahr, Special Programs Manager at the Solvang Conference & Visitors Bureau, presenters of the culinary festival. During the three days, more than one thousand guests enjoyed six diverse events (many of which sold out in advance) featuring locally grown foods, wines, beers and diverse cuisine in “California’s Denmark” in the heart of Santa Ynez Valley Wine Country.

Taste of Solvang: Sip & Savor at Hotel Corque on Friday, March 15 from 7-9pm showcased 25 of Solvang's best chefs (Chef Crystal ‘Pink’ DeLongre pictured above), bakers, caterers, winemakers, brewers, distillers and artisans presenting a smorgasbord of locally-inspired savory bites, wine, beer and cocktails followed by a first-ever after party from 9-11pm offering unlimited signature Danish desserts, chocolates, sweets and wines and dancing to Sean Wiggins and her band.

Taste of Solvang Culinary Tasting Trail on Saturday from 11am-4pm offered a new format with multiple pop-up culinary tasting trail stops throughout downtown Solvang.

Taste of Solvang: Sunday Brunch with Bottomless Mimosa and Bloody Mary Bar and menu created and served by Executive Chef Brooke Stockwell at K’Syrah Catering Events Center had guests cheering.
 
Additional events included Saturday and Sunday’s Taste of Solvang Wine & Beer Walk featuring 15 stops at downtown tasting rooms pouring their vintages and samples of craft beer into the prized Taste of Solvang souvenir glass; and the  Buttonwood Farm Winery & Root 246 “Thinking Outside the Box” Dinner on Saturday evening with untraditional delicacies—think uni risotto paired with a hopped sauvignon blanc and four more courses that followed showcasing the most innovative tastes in Solvang happening now.
 
The 2019 Taste of Solvang was presented by the Solvang Conference & Visitors Bureau, produced by Cultivate Events with sponsorship support from Chumash Casino Resort, Visit Santa Ynez Valley and City of Solvang.
