Alisal Guest Ranch & Resort
The Alisal Guest Ranch & Resort offers 73 telephone-and-television-free guest cottages and suites, more than 50 miles of horseback riding trails, two 18-hole championship golf courses, a 6,500-square-foot spa and fitness center, six tennis courts and a 100-acre spring-fed lake with water sports, including fly fishing, canoeing and kayaking. The Alisal Guest Ranch Resort & Spa has long been considered the premier full-service guest ranch for couples, families, and conferences since it opened in 1946. This secluded hideaway is one of the few places where time seems reluctant to move forward.
The Turner House
Designer Nathan Turner has reimagined an Alisal three-bedroom cottage anchored by a central living room, to feel like a standalone house.  Guests can book the entire cottage or each of the three rooms separately—the Master Bedroom, Suite 68, comes with the Living Room. Each space in the cottage has a subtlety different color scheme and the common great room ties them all together. Turner fashions a “collected over time” appeal, with décor that suggest the Turner House has been at the Ranch since it first opened as the Guest Ranch in 1946. Decorative fixtures feature vintage artwork and antiques curated by Turner, and refinished furniture pieces inspired by the House’s California-Monterey style. Additional accents include reclaimed barnwood paneling, a grand fireplace complete with a river rock façade, Ralph Lauren fabrics, and Pendleton accessories. To complete the look, vanities and bar areas channel the specific California-Monterey aesthetic with Monterey cabinetry and iron hardware.
