This 700-seat outdoor venue in the half-round was built by community volunteers in only 58 days in summer 1974—and hosts marvelous live concerts, plays, musicals and comedies. This year, for the 44th summer in this magical setting, PCPA (Pacific Conservatory Theatre) professional performances are presented under the stars featuring acclaimed actors and stunning sets. Highlights of the 2019 PCPA summer season are "A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder"  is the knock-‘m-dead, uproarious hit playing from June 13 through June 30. Then, it's the "Tony Award winning musical Million Dollar Quartet" that features over 20 hit songs including “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Fever,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On,” “Hound Dog,” and more playing from July 5 – 28. "The Addams Family, a new musical based on the Addams' characters, plays eater August 2  - 25. It’s an original story, and it’s every father’s nightmare! Closing out the summer season in Solvang is Oscar Wilde’s delectable wordplay of a “trivial comedy for serious people aka The Importance of Being Earnest" from August 29 – September 8.
