The California Nature Art Museum (CalNAM) is pleased to announce the opening of its latest exhibition Untamed Desert ~ Captured by Paulette Donnellon. The show will be on view from July 26, 2026 to January 18, 2027 in the museum’s Valley Oak Gallery.

Vast, rugged, and full of life, Untamed Desert is a photographic tribute to the extraordinary beauty of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. From the powerful, sure-footed climb of a desert bighorn sheep along rugged ridgelines to the alert, wide-eyed stance of a burrowing owl guarding its sandy doorway, each image reflects Donnellon’s deep reverence for this arid landscape. More than a visual journey, this exhibition is a celebration of the park’s wild spirit and a reminder that even in the harshest environments, beauty endures.

Through the Eyes of Bjørn Wiinblad

Step into the colorful, imaginative world of Danish artist Bjørn Wiinblad at Elverhøj Museum of History & Art. This major exhibition celebrates Wiinblad’s distinctive style, whimsical figures, vibrant colors, and joyful approach to art and design. Discover the remarkable creativity and boundless imagination that made his work instantly recognizable around the world.

The Farmers Market works diligently to bring the freshest and most nutritious produce our rich, local agricultural land has to offer directly to the public. The markets serve to strengthen local community ties and magnify our great outdoors with weekly events while enhancing our locals activities.

There are so many types of art and so many ways to use the materials! In this class we are going to have fun with a few of our favorites. Participants will learn the joys of drawing, painting with watercolor & acrylic paint, print-making, mixed-media art and more!

Geared toward kids ages 7-12, this class will explore new mediums each week with guidance so that each artist is free to create, express and explore in their own, unique way.

Event Description:

Process Art: Art making in which the emphasis is on the PROCESS of creating and not just the final product.

Bring your child (ages 4-6 no exceptions) for an 1 hr long session journeying through a process art project. New materials and ideas presented each week with guidance so that each artist is free to create, express and explore in their own, unique way. This is a drop-off class so kids can fully immerse themselves in the art.

Class will meet on Wednesdays from 4-5pm beginning November 4. No class Thanksgiving week.

Event Description:

Let the Art Spot help bring artistic expression into your child’s life during the school break. Breaks can be a hectic time for parents and hard on families with the disruption of schedule. So join us during these times for fun, special events created with your child in mind!

You can choose to join us for one day or get a discount to join all three days! Each day will consist of a unique morning creative session to get our artistic juices flowing and games to keep the fun flowing, followed by a lunch break and then a guided painting of a different subject each afternoon.

*All art materials  will be provided, we just ask participants to come with a sack lunch, water bottle and a good attitude.

Join in on the city-wide hunt for the mischievous Solvang Nisser (Danish for “gnome”)! This group of Nisser have hidden themselves throughout Downtown Solvang and we need your help tracking them down. Find one, or find them all as you enjoy all that Downtown Solvang has to offer. Fun for the whole family!

All Julefest long, pop into the Solvang Visitor Center for a list of clues to the various hiding spots the Nisser frequents.

Santa’s Village will open on Saturday, November 28th and will be open every Saturday and Sunday November 28th, 29th and December 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 19th, and 20th, 2026 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Come on out and meet Mr. Claus with Christmas lists at the ready!
