Join us Wednesday-Sunday, March 15-19, 2017 for a unique experiential culinary weekend featuring Solvang farmers, chefs, bakers, winemakers, brewers, distillers and artisans showcasing the bounty of Santa Barbara wine country set amidst our quaint Danish town.

Taste your way through dozens of restaurants, cafes, bakeries, and wine and beer tasting rooms while you explore our authentic architecture, thatched roof cottages, old-world craftsmanship, traditional windmills and rich Danish heritage. From farm-to-table, rustic wine country cuisine to New American and modern Danish fare, to iconic sweets and award-winning beers, spirits and world-class wines, Taste of Solvang offers something for everyone!

Advance ticket purchases are highly recommended, as events do sell out. 
Advance hotel reservations are also recommended; most hotels fill up well in advance of Taste of Solvang weekend.

Wednesday, March 15 || 3 PM

Farmers Market Chef Walks | Solvang Farmers Market

Led by a selection of Solvang's most prominent farm-to-table chefs, each Farmers Market Chef Walk will start with a guided stroll through the Solvang Farmers Market where you will tour the abundance of colorful produce that will lead to a unique gourmet experience comprised of that day's Market haul. Space is extremely limited; reservations are required. **Not included in Weekend Pass or VIP Packages

Chef Pink | Bacon & Brine

Grab your chance to stroll along with Food Network's’ TV personality Chef Pink and learn her professional insights, passion for fermented foods and how she came to establish Bacon & Brine, one of the hottest eatery spots in Solvang where they are dedicated to hyper local sourcing to create menus that are seasonal, 100% from scratch, and with their own bit of sass.

Chef Steven Snook | First & Oak

This previously sold-out Farmers market walk will entail a conversational walk with Chef Steven Snook, who trained under British celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay, learning about produce and culinary technique. We encourage questions. Once you have selected your produce you will accompany Jonathan Rosenson, Sommelier, for a walking vineyard tour of Coquelicot Estate where you will learn about grape growing, wine-making and of course sample some wine while you walk. During the wine walk, Chef Steven Snook will be preparing a beautiful 4-course tasting menu.

THURSDAY, MARCH 16 || 5 PM
Evening with the Sommelier Featuring a Blind Tasting of Bordeaux Library Wines & Current Releases | Lions Peak Vineyards; Solvang, CA

Go on a wine tasting experience with a flight of 4 Lions Peak Cabernet Sauvignons beginning with the 1994 Vintage to a flight of 4 current releases. Jennifer and Samantha Corder, assistant manager attending Allan Hancock’s viticulture associate program, will be your guides through the Bordeaux Varietals.

Come be a part of the first time Lions Peak will introduce a blind tasting of the selected vintages where you will be voting on your preference.  Tasting Notes will be provided for your education along with the wine and select gourmet cheese selection from Vin Hus. Chocolate pairings from Seattle chocolate will be offered after the initial tasting and wine discussion.  This is guaranteed to be a wonderful evening filled with fine wines dating back to historical vintages of 22 years ago.  This event is for those tasters that have wine knowledge.

Limited to 25 people, reservations in advance are required.

Thursday, March 16 || 6 PM

Learn To Blind Taste Like A Sommelier | Wandering Dog Wine Bar; Solvang, CA

Enjoy a guided blind tasting of four red wines while learning how to use wine knowledge and sensory skills to arrive at a final conclusion for each wine. Cheese and crackers are provided to accompany tasting. Basic wine knowledge is highly recommended for this event.  

Limited to 10 people, reservations in advance are required.  **Not included in Weekend Pass or VIP packages

Opening Night: Sip + Savor | Solvang Veterans Memorial Hall

Skip the sit-down dinner and join us for the 25th Annual Opening Night, featuring 25 of the best Santa Ynez Valley chefs, bakers, caterers, winemakers, and brewers presenting a smorgasbord of locally-inspired savory and sweet bites, wine, beer and cocktails.

Participants include The Ballard Inn, First & Oak, The Landsby, Succulent Cafe, Valle Fresh, K’Syrah, Scratch Kitchen, Eleven Wine Bar, The Lucky Hen Larder, Ingeborg’s Danish Chocolates, Olsen’s Danish Village Bakery, Wandering Dog Wines, Dascomb Cellars, Ferguson Crest, Presidio Winery, Lions Peak Vineyards, Larner Vineyard and Winery, Coquelicot Winery, Figueroa Mountain Brewery and Ascendant Spirits, Solvang Brewing Company, just to name a few.

Enjoy live music from Sean Wiggins Band that will set your feet to dancing during this decadent evening of culinary indulgence.

Solvang "Tasting Trail"

Satisfy your cravings as you shop your way through Solvang as dozens of food businesses welcome Tasting Trail guests with bite-sized edible treats. Discover Solvang’s many unique boutiques, eateries and other intriguing merchants, while sampling participating businesses’ delightful delicacies and tasty offerings. The 2017 Taste of Solvang Tasting Trail will overlap in hours with the 2017 Solvang Wine & Beer Walk, so attendees may simultaneously take part in both food and drink activities. BONUS: the Hans Christian Andersen Museum, the Elverhoj Museum of History & Art, and the Wildling Museum will offer free admission for Tasting Trail ticket holders.

Solvang Wine & Beer Walk (includes Souvenir Wine Glass)

Pair your shopping with a refreshing taste of your pick of over 15+ participating wine tasting rooms, wine bars and beer bars on this popular 2-day stroll through Solvang Village. It’s the perfect opportunity to discover new favorites, sample local, boutique wines and craft beers as you work up a hunger for more Taste of Solvang happenings. The 2017 Taste of Solvang Wine & Beer Walk will feature an earlier Saturday start-time (2 PM-7 PM), providing guests with more tasting hours. The Solvang Wine & Beer Walk ticket includes select "Taste of Solvang tastings" at each tasting stop; Taste of Solvang wine/beer tasting menu and options vary by location. (Must be 21 and over to participate in the Wine & Beer Walk. Limited to 3 pours per location.)

Buttonwood Farm Winemaker Dinner | Cecco Ristorante

Looking for a special dining experience?  Head over to Cecco Ristorante in the heart of downtown Solvang and join Chef David Cecchini and Buttonwood Farm Winery winemaker, Karen Steinwachs, for a locally-inspired, Italian-influenced gourmet dinner comprised of seasonal, fresh ingredients. Each unforgettable course is paired with Buttonwood’s estate-grown wines, served amidst the splendor of Cecco’s beautiful open air patio. Space is limited; reservations are required.
