Free Friday Night Movies in the Park

The original “Movies in the Park” returns to Solvang.  The Solvang Parks and Recreation Department and the Sheriff’s Activity League is proud to offer the sixth season of this great family-friendly event.  The fun begins at 7:30pm with cartoons and the main feature will start at sundown.  Fresh popcorn and hot cocoa may be purchased at each show.   


Our “fun for the family” films are rated G-PG (a PG-13 film is rarely but occasionally shown).  Parents are responsible for deciding if the film is appropriate for their children.  For more information, please call the Solvang Parks and Recreation Department at 688-7529.

Solvang Independence Day Festival & Fireworks

Featuring The Santa Ynez Valley Master Chorale and Blue Grass Band
 
The Santa Ynez Valley Master Chorale will present its first free concert to the community on Saturday, July 4 at 2:00 P.M. in the Veteran’s Memorial Building on Mission Drive (Hwy 246) in Solvang.  Directed by Chris A. Bowman, the Chorale will be accompanied by the same Blue Grass band that played at the three Spring Concerts in Buellton:  Helen Townsend, Piano; Diane Byington, Fiddle; Chris Judge, Guitar/Banjo; Brendon Statum, Bass; and Rex Harte, Drums/Percussion.
 
The Fourth of July Jamboree is a program of American music that includes folksongs, Appalachian tunes, Western favorites, Stephen Foster melodies and more.  Chris Bowman says, “This is Americana at its best! With something for everyone, this concert is 100% ‘made in America.’ Join us for some fun at the at the Fourth of July Jamboree!”

An old-fashioned Fourth of July Parade presented by the Solvang Breakfast Rotary Club. Parade begins at 11:00am, downtown Solvang, along Mission Drive (Highway 246). The parade will travel north from Mission Santa Ines and will continue west on Hwy. 246 to Fourth Street; continue south on Fourth Street, east on Copenhagen Drive, south on Alisal Road and east on Molle Way back to the Mission. 805-698-6910.
